What is an Oxygen Bar?

What is an Oxygen Bar?

An oxygen bar offers oxygen treatment delivered through a concentrator and with a cannula that fits under the nose. Treatments last anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes at a time.

Modern day breathing air contains around 21% oxygen, but an oxygen bar uses a system to deliver concentrated oxygen at a rate of up to 95% by filtering out the atmospheric gases that are an unnecessary part of room air. You may think that most of your energy comes from the food that you drink, but it may surprise you to know that over 90% of your energy comes from oxygen. If your energy levels are low, or you are experiencing headaches, mood swings or trouble concentrating, then recreational oxygen therapy can significantly reduce the symptoms while improving vitality with little to no risk to the user.

Oxygen bars combine essential oils with pure oxygen in a way that creates clarity and focus while promoting tranquility, cheer and harmony. Some of the most popular flavors in oxygen bars include Eucalyptus, Gardenia, Peppermint, Vanilla, Lavender, Lemongrass, Cherry, Spearmint, Orange, Almond, Cinnamon, and Wintergreen. Each flavor is made by bubbling oxygen into the Aroma bottles that hold water, essentials, and therapeutic Grade aromas. Lastly, the vaporized scent is pumped into the bottle through the hose.

How can an oxygen bar help me?

  • Increased energy levels – Feel more refreshed with more air flow whether you are out, at home or at work.
  • Improved sports performance – achieve optimal performance with increased conversion of fats, carbs, proteins and sugars to energy and heat.
  • Stress reduction, increased concentration and mood – a cheery outlook can be achieved, as well as increased focus and clarity with purified oxygen and essential oils.
  • Reduce symptoms of migraine and headache – a rise in oxygen can alleviate the symptoms of headache and migraine.
  • Increased sleep quality – purified oxygen can assist in alleviating sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia.
  • Weight loss benefits – increased metabolic function and circulation can result from more oxygen.
  • Cancer Prevention—higher levels of oxygen in the blood can help prevent some cancers
  • Smoking Recovery-oxygen can help smokers/ex-smokers regain lung capacity
  • Breathing trouble: Pneumonia, COVID-19 Recovery, Asthma.

*No results are guaranteed and, as with most treatments, consistency is important to achieve and maintain results*

What to expect at your oxygen session?

Ideally, you should wear loose, comfortable, and cozy clothing, and prepare to relax during your session. At Sana Vita, the oxygen bar is in our wellness boutique where you can find journals and books to purchase before your session. This can help you practice mindfulness while receiving your treatment.

In special cases that are pre-arranged we can combine oxygen therapy with other wellness services like our compression equipment or a relaxing session in the IV parlor.

Who should NOT use an oxygen bar?

If you have a history of:

COPD

Cystic fibrosis

Emphysema

If you have any questions or concerns regarding use of the oxygen bar please consult your physician prior to use. You may also schedule an appointment with one of our medical staff to discuss your individual health history and evaluate the wellness treatments that will most benefit you. Michael Leatherwood

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW

The primary guiding principle in my approach to therapy is empathy. I am convinced that “feeling with” people is a key to healing. When people feel listened to and truly understood, an atmosphere of mutual respect is created. It has been my experience that people do not feel valued unless they know that someone is genuinely interested in understanding their pain.

I specialize in working with adults, adolescents and children who suffer from trauma, depression and anxiety as well as bipolar and obsessive compulsive disorders. I have over 30 years of experience treating various types of addiction and dual diagnosis.

I believe in a strength-based approach to therapy. Assessing and utilizing a person’s strengths is essential to building hope. Unfortunately, a problem centered model has resulted in people being defined by their problem or diagnosis. A strength-based approach protects and enhances the dignity of my clients.
